Christmas Projects

Good Morning,

Firstly I must apologise for not posting on here for sometime. The past couple of months have been rather hectic as we have had builders and tradesmen in at home and I've spent what time I've had concentrating on my classes and workshops. I'm pleased to say that things are slowly getting back to normal and I'm looking forward to being able to share more of my projects and ideas with you in the new year.

The run up to Christmas was very busy and I think one of my favourite workshops was the one where we made our Christmas Wreath and Collage. It was a lovely although very busy day and the class was a great success.

Fairy Celebration - Birthday Card

Hello and welcome back to my blog.
As promised yesterday, today I'm sharing the birthday card I made or our Granddaughter last week.
She really liked the gift set I made for her and no doubt she will try making something similar herself.

I really enjoy using inks in my projects and they can make a perfect background. For this project I blended 3 colours together for the background and I love the affect they made.

Fairy Celebration for a special little girl

Good morning and welcome to my blog.
Today I'm sharing a gift box I made for our Grand daughter for her birthday. She loves fairies at the moment so the Fairy Celebration set was perfect for what I had in mind.

  • To make the base cover a small cake board with Garden Green cardstock.
  • Then take a strip of white cardstock approx 1 1/2" wide and roll securing the end in place.
  • Then glue the bottom edge and adhere to the base.
  • Make the toadstool using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die and Real Red cardstock.
  • Then add 1/2" circles of whisper white card and highlight the edges with Dazzling Details.
  • Now glue around the top edge of the stalk and glue the giftbox in place.
  • Cut a selection of flowers and leaves to decorate the base as desired.
  • Using the Fairy Celebration stamp set, stamp an image of choice and colour in. Carefully cut out the image and glue onto toadstool.
  • Finally add rhinestones to the centre of the flowers and highlight the flowers, leaves and fairy with Dazzling details.

I hope you have liked this project and would like to make one for yourself. There are so many things you can make using the Curvy Keepsake Box, especially for Christmas.

Tomorrow I will share the card that I made to go with the gift box.

Foxy Friends - Favourite Mouse

Hello, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend. I had my first crop of the month on Saturday and it was lovely to catch up with everyone again.
Today I have my favourite mouse card to share with you. This is a real cutie and I hope you like him as much as I do.

Once I had cut the circle from the card I used for the top layer, I inked the edges of the circles with daffodil delight, this helped give the circles definition. I then used dimentionals to layer the card and to make it look as if the mouse was in the cheese.

I have a new online code for you use this month. All orders between £20 and £150 will receive a gift from me at the beginning of November.

Foxy Friends - Loving these Mieces to Pieces

Hello, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Today I'm continuing with the projects using the Foxy friends bundle. I'm just loving the cute little mice you can create. Todays make is one that I've cased from the lovely Julie Kettlewell as I just love the colour combination used.

This cute little guy is so much fun to make and just by tilting his head slightly his little personality appears.

Foxy Friends - Just Purrrfect

Good Morning and welcome back to Karen's Craft Cafe.

As promised I have another project for you that we made at this months technique class. Today's project is a sweet little book mark using a cat made from the fox builder punch and stamp set.

This was a really popular project with the youngsters in the group and a few extra were made to take home to friends and siblings.
Once again I brushed through a circle template to make the background and finished the bookmark by adding a ball of wool as an embellishment.
These would be fab as little gifts and can also be laminated to prolong the life of them.

Today is the final day to use the September online code to receive your free gift from me at the beginning of October.

Foxy Friends

We had a lovely day at this months Technique workshop making a selection of animals with the fox builder punch and foxy friends stamp set. I even had a couple of youngsters join us this time and they thoroughly enjoyed making their little characters and seeing them come to life.
The first project was a card using the fox, he is so quick and easy to make.

For the background I made a circle template and inked through it using soft sky classic stampin pad. This can be done with colour of choice depending on what background you prefer.
I have also prepared the individual pieces you will need to make the fox and laid them out for you to see easily.

Make sure you pop across again tomorrow and see what other characters were made.

Just a quick reminder that I will be closing the September online code on Friday morning if you would like to place an order with me and receive your free gift at the beginning of October.

Watercolor Wings

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely weekend, unfortunately the weather isn't too good for many of us but with a bit of luck the sun shall appear soon.
Today I'm sharing a project with you that I did with my regular group of ladies. A couple of them came to my technique class in August so I decided to continue using one of the techniques we used then in this project.
This is a project which has been done by many in a variety of ways and is very popular. I used the Watercolor wings stamp set for this along with butterflies thinlits dies, both a firm favourite of mine.

For all orders placed online during the month of September, please use the code below to receive your free gift from me at the beginning of October.

Celebrate with Floral Boutique

Good Morning,
Another anniversary card to share with you today, and this time it was one which I made for very dear friends who celebrated their Pearl Wedding Anniversary.

This card was made using Detailed Floral Thinlit Dies and the Floral Phrases stamp set. Both items are from the Floral Boutique Suite range and are perfect when making Engagement, Wedding or Anniversary cards or layouts.
To make this card I firstly layered Whisper White and Smoky Slate cardstock and then die cut the final layer with both Detailed Floral thinlit dies. I then stamped the sentiment in smoky slate and added a whisper white organza bow. As the card was for a Pearl Wedding celebration I embellished the card with pearl basic jewels.

62nd Anniversary

Hello!
I recently made this card for my parents who celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. I love the timeless love stamp set and this was perfect for the occasion.

  • For the centre design of the card I stamped the image four times, two opposite each other on a pre-cut circle and two separately, before colouring the images in.
  • To colour the image I firstly pressed the lids of the inkpad down then opened the ink pads up to find ink in the lid. I then used this to watercolour the images.
  • I then cut around the flowers on the two separate images and layered these onto the base design using dimensionals.
