August Stamp a Stack - Second project

Hello,
Today I'm back with another card from this months Stamp a Stack. Again we used the Peaceful Pines Stamp set and perfect pines dies.  Although there are a few small elements to this card once the cutting out and embossing was done it was fairly quick and easy to put together.

Look out for tomorrows post where I'll have the new online code for September for you and the new Autumn/Winter catalogue is launched.

August Stamp a Stack

Good Morning,
I hope you've all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend the weather stayed nice for you.

Now that the end of August is upon us we will soon be preparing ourselves for the run up to Christmas and as crafters getting ready (if we haven't already) to start making Christmas cards.
This month I held my first Christmas Stamp a Stack. We made 8 cards, 2 each of 4 designs. The designs for this months cards were based on trees and we used the Peaceful Pines stamp set.

The brand new Autumn/Winter catalogue is available from Thursday 1st September and is full of fantastic Christmas goodies and ideas.
My next Christmas Stamp a Stack is on Tuesday 13th September at Drayton Village Hall 7-9pm. There are only a couple of places left so please email me soon if you'd like to join us. If you would prefer to get a few ladies together and for me to come to you then please contact me and I will arrange the event to suite.
The online code for August has now closed and a new code will be available Thursday 1st September.

Celebrate with Floral Boutique

Good Morning,
Another anniversary card to share with you today, and this time it was one which I made for very dear friends who celebrated their Pearl Wedding Anniversary.

This card was made using Detailed Floral Thinlit Dies and the Floral Phrases stamp set. Both items are from the Floral Boutique Suite range and are perfect when making Engagement, Wedding or Anniversary cards or layouts.
To make this card I firstly layered Whisper White and Smoky Slate cardstock and then die cut the final layer with both Detailed Floral thinlit dies. I then stamped the sentiment in smoky slate and added a whisper white organza bow. As the card was for a Pearl Wedding celebration I embellished the card with pearl basic jewels.

62nd Anniversary

Hello!
I recently made this card for my parents who celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. I love the timeless love stamp set and this was perfect for the occasion.

  • For the centre design of the card I stamped the image four times, two opposite each other on a pre-cut circle and two separately, before colouring the images in.
  • To colour the image I firstly pressed the lids of the inkpad down then opened the ink pads up to find ink in the lid. I then used this to watercolour the images.
  • I then cut around the flowers on the two separate images and layered these onto the base design using dimensionals.

Timeless Textures Layout Style

What a lovely day it is today, I love this warm weather!
This week I've been prepping for my next Christmas Stamp a Stack and it seems strange doing Christmas when the weather is so lovely.

Today I'm bringing you the last of the projects done at this months technique workshop. To finish off the day we transferred the techniques we'd used in our previous projects onto a layout showing that all techniques can be used in a variety of ways.

Timeless Textures - project 3

Good Morning, today I'm sharing the third project we made at this months technique class. For this card we used an inking technique using baby wipes.

The card size used is A6. Base colour is Crumb Cake with a matt layer of Whisper White which was used as a base for the main design.
  • Before I started building the design on my card I firstly made my own ink pad using the baby wipe technique.
  • To do this, take yourself a baby wipe and fold it a couple of times to make a pad. I put this into an empty stamp case so that it didn't dry out immediately and I could use it again later. Add a few drops of each of the inks you are going to use. I used wisteria wonder, blushing bride and crumb cake. Put to one side for a few minutes to let the inks blend a little.
  • Using one of the edge stamps from the timeless textures stamp set, stamp along the edge of the whisper white cardstock on two sides with blushing bride ink pad using second generation ink.
  • Next using the small grid stamp and crumb cake ink pad, stamp using second generation in along the left hand side and bottom and a little in to top right corner.
  • Now using the ink pad you've mad, ink up the flourish stamp and stamp along the left side and bottom. You will find that the stamp image is fairly light and has a distress feel to it.
  • Then using the ink pad again use the small dots stamp and stamp randomly over the card.
  • Wrap a little linen thread around the bottom of the card and then stick to the base card.
  • Decorate by adding a small flower and a few sequins. The flower I used was made using the botanical builder framelits.

Timeless Textures Workshop

I hope you liked the first of the cards from my technique class. Todays card uses watercolour card and heat embossing.

The card size used is A6. The base is Bermuda Bay with a matt layer of Whisper White.
  • The watercolour card is 2" wide and cut to length once embossed and inked.
  • Firstly using an embossing buddy, wipe across the watercolour card, this will stop excess embossing powder sticking to the cad a spoiling your design.
  • Next using a Versamark ink pad, ink the flourish stamp from the timeless textures stamp set onto the watercolour card.
  • Then dust with clear embossing powder. Shake away excess powder and gently heat emboss. tip any excess back into the pot and put to one side.
  • Take a drop of each ink and put onto a glass mat or tile.
  • Using plain water, brush across the watercolour paper sparingly.
  • Now add a little water to each of the drops of ink and starting with soft sky, brush across the watercolour card. Add more water to the ink or card as necessary and the more ink you add the more vibrant the end result.
  • Once you are happy with the result, dry using a heat gun.
  • Matt the watercolour card firstly onto Whisper White cardstock and then Bermuda Bay.
  • Finally adhere onto the front of your card base and embellish with butterflies and rhinestones.
  • The sentiment used is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set and stamped with Bermuda Bay Ink.
Tomorrow I will show you the third technique we used once again using three different inks.

Glad to be back

Well after an awful couple of weeks, I'm glad to be back posting once more. It's not until technology goes wrong do you realise just how much depends on it. Luckily I have the most important things backed up but getting things up and working again has taken time.

Although I've been unable to post I have still been busy with my week day classes and Saturday workshops and I'm looking forward to showing you what we've been making.

Last Saturday was my technique workshop. This month we used the Timeless Textures stamp set and made 3 cards and a layout. Each card project used a different inking technique and we then used the same techniques in our final project.

I shouldn't really have favourites, but I love this card and the colours used, not normally the ones I'd use but I really like the black and yellows together.

The card size used is A6. Base colour is whisper white then I added a matt of basic black.
The second matt of whisper white was used as a base for the main design.

  • Firstly sponge or brush the whisper white card with so saffron and smoky grey inks. Make it fairly light to start with as you can increase the colour if you wish later.
  • Use second generation stamping with so saffron around the edge of the card using one of the border edge stamps from Timeless textures.
  • Then using the same stamp ink up with crushed curry and stamp around the edge again this time stamping closer to the edge so that the outside edge is darker.
  • Again with the same stamp ink up with smoky slate and stamp with third generation ink. You may find you want to use second generation, just depends on how dark you like the colour, but you are really only looking for texture.
  • Using the flourish stamp, ink with black around the border bringing some of the flourishes closer to the centre.
  • The sentiment is then stamped in black.
  • To finish off the card add a butterfly cut in so saffron designer series paper, and ink around the edge to soften in smoky slate. Add a smaller butterfly cut in basic black the the centre of the larger butterfly and then embellish with a gem of your choice.
I hope you enjoy making this card for yourself. I'll be back tomorrow with other card from my technique class.
